Pryor Scores In Men’s Soccer Loss

WAYNE, N.J. (September 3, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team gave up two goals in the second half Wednesday night in a 3-1 loss to William Paterson University.
 
The loss drops Stevens to 0-2-0 while William Paterson moved to 1-1-0.
 
The Pioneers gained the early 1-0 edge just 48 second into the game when senior Omar Jallow connected on a shot that bounced off the crossbar and in. The Ducks responded with three unanswered shots including two on net, but none were able to find the back of the net.
 
The Ducks missed on one more shot before junior Carson Pryor broke through with a goal in the 40th minute to tie the game at one. On the play, the Pioneers attempted to make a backward pass to the goalie, but Pryor pressured the ball, gained control, and tapped it in for his first goal of the season.
 
Stevens outshot the Pioneers 5-3 in the first half, tallying three corner kicks.
 
William Paterson regained the lead in the 54th minute when junior Carlos Arevalo connected with the right side of the goal off a pass from Jallow. Less than 10 minutes later, Jallow added to his hot game with a goal in front of the box off a pass from junior Juan Londono to make it 3-1.
 
Two more Stevens shots from Pryor and junior Colin Phillips went high in the final 15 minutes, giving William Paterson the 3-1 win.
 
The Ducks totaled eight shots including four on goal, and Pryor's goal in the first half was his fourth in the team's last six games dating back to last season.
