HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 5, 2015)
 - The Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's basketball teams will host Utica College on Tuesday night in the Canavan Arena in a key early-season Empire 8 showdown.

The Stevens women will get things underway at 6 p.m. after a pair of convincing double-digit wins over Alfred University and Houghton College this past weekend. The Ducks have an overall mark of 7-1, running off seven-straight victories following a loss in the season-opener.

The men's basketball team split its first two conference contests Friday and Saturday, suffering a setback against Alfred and rolling to a double-digit win over Houghton. The Ducks will bring an overall mark of 4-6 in to Tuesday's contest (1-1 Empire 8).

The Utica men dropped a pair on the road last weekend  and come into the game with an overall mark of 4-7. The Pioneers were defeated Friday by St. John Fisher College, and Saturday by Ithaca College.

Fisher and Ithaca also defeated the Pioneer women in their first two conference games, sending them to an overall record of 4-7 as well. Utica was however able to take conference powerhouse Ithaca to double overtime Saturday before succumbing by a final of 80-74.

Canavan Arena doors open at 5 p.m. The women will tip at 6 p.m. and the men will follow promptly, getting underway at 8 p.m. Fans unable to get to Hoboken can tune in to the live broadcast and/or live stats via www.stevensducks.com or the links above.
