Six Different Goal Scorers Lead Women’s Soccer Past Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (OCTOBER 13, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team topped Brooklyn College 7-0 Wednesday.

The win moved the Ducks to 10-2-1, while Brooklyn fell to 3-9-1 on the season.

Stevens peppered the Bulldogs throughout the opening 45 minutes, firing 12 shots and registering nine corner kicks. The Ducks broke throughout in the 32nd minute, as senior Kristen Goncalves scored off a pass from sophomore Sammy Mount.

Seven minutes later, junior Raba Nassif tallied an unassisted marker. Sophomore Gabby Pagkalinawan notched her fourth marker of the year in the 60th minute off a feed from freshman Whitney Brown, giving Brown the first point of her career.

With just over 12 minutes remaining in the second half, freshman Misha Brewster knocked home a cross from senior Bella Romano to put the Ducks up 4-0. It was the first point for Romano in her four year career. Stevens would push across three more tallies over the final 6:24, including the first career goal for Brown.

Freshman Madi Chollett made her first career start, notching one save. Six Ducks recorded three shots, while Nassif, Mount, Brown and Brewster all had multiple point outings.

Rebecca Harmata made eight saves in the defeat for the Bulldogs, while Jordan Kerwin had the lone shot on goal.

The Ducks return home Saturday for a 2 p.m. showdown with Alfred University. That contest will be Hoboken Youth Soccer Day, as well as Senior Day.
