HOBOKEN, N.J. (OCTOBER 22, 2015) – After dropping a pair of matches last week, the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team (13-11) takes on a trio of Empire 8 Conference opponents this weekend.
MATCH DETAILSOn Friday, Stevens will travel to Hartwick College for a single match at 7 p.m, before traveling to Elmira College for a tri-match also featuring Houghton College on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
LAST TIME OUTDespite junior
Mary Tobin tallying 14 kills and 17 digs, the Ducks fell in four sets to Millikin University.
HAWK REPORTHartwick comes into the match 9-17 overall, and 2-3 in the E8. Quincy Kinzel has handed out 458 assists, while Rachel Jones leads the Hawks with 70.0 total blocks.
SATURDAY SCOUTINGNatalie Schieder has helped lead Elmira to a 4-2 mark in the E8 with a team-high 280 kills and 50 service aces. Houghton is 15-8 overall this year, and 5-1 in conference play. Hallie Burgher is tops with 256 kills, while a pair of players are over 300 digs.
TALKIN' ABOUT PLAYOFFS?Houghton, Elmira and Stevens are all currently in playoff position, with the Ducks sitting atop the conference with a 5-0 mark. Houghton and Elmira are in third and fourth place respectively.
LEAGUE LEADERSFreshman
Emily Piekarski and sophomore
Sydni Horner lead the E8 in service aces per set and digs per set respectively. Piekarski is averaging .63 aces per set, while Horner has tallied 456 digs over 85 sets.
