HOBOKEN, N.J. (OCTOBER 29, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team (17-11) takes on four different opponents at the New York State Regional Challenge Friday and Saturday.
MATCH INFOOn Friday, the Ducks will take on the University of Rochester at 4 p.m. and Rowan University at 8 p.m. The following day, Stevens will square off with Rochester Institute of Technology at 12:30 p.m. and SUNY-Fredonia at 4:30 p.m.
REGIONAL BATTLEWhen the Ducks battle Fredonia on Saturday, it will feature two teams ranked in the NCAA New York regional rankings. Stevens slots in at No. 9, while the Blue Devils are one spot below at No. 10. Of the 10 teams ranked in the NY region, the Ducks have already faced four of them.
WEDNESDAY REWINDStevens topped the College of New Rochelle in straight sets on senior night. Seniors Sarah Leclerc and
Kristen Herchenroder made their first starts of the year, and helped lead the Ducks to victory. Leclerc tallied a career-best eight digs, while Herchenroder notched seven kills and seven digs.
DISHIN' IT OFFSenior
Catie Shelton leads the team with 746 assists this year. Shelton is second in the Empire 8 Conference in assists per set, handing 8.48 in 88 sets.
SWEEP, SWEEPThe Ducks have won four matches in a row, including the last three in straight sets.
MEET IN THE MIDDLESenior
Annemarie Thomas and sophomore
Mckenzie Kingsbury lead the team in total blocks. Thomas had 56, including 13 solo blocks, while Kingsbury is right behind with 50 total and 12 solos.
TOBIN TIMEJunior outside hitter
Mary Tobin leads the Empire 8 with 3.26 kills per set, and is tops on the team with 316 kills. Tobin is also second on the Ducks with 317 digs.
