RESULTS
GLASSBORO, N.J. (OCTOBER 31, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team topped Rowan University 157-102 in their season opener Saturday.
The Ducks moved to 1-0 on the season, while Rowan dropped to 0-1.
Stevens got a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle from senior
Elizabeth Heinbach, and the Ducks were able to go 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke with freshman
Courtney Jones picking up her first collegiate victory, and sophomore
Sarah Hoogenboom coming in second.
The Ducks picked up eight points in the 100-breaststroke, as senior
Elena Piper was second while freshman
Laurie Prinz and Alli Galer were third and fifth respectively. Stevens took the top four spots in the 200-butterfly, as sophomore
Sarah Jurczyk took first place with a time of 2:10.45.

Danielle Caruso claimed the top two spots in 50-yard freestyle, while junior
Claire Hendershot and Hoogenboom registering first and second place times in the 200-back. Caruso and sophomore
Meghan Randle took the first two spots in the 500-free, with Caruso registering a time of 5:18.94. Jurczyk won the 100-yard butterfly by over three seconds, while freshman
Caroline Shusta and sophomore
Tori Glascock also scored points. Jurczyk recorded her third victory of the day with a victory in the 200-yard IM.
The Ducks will be back in action next Saturday, traveling to New York for a tri-meet against New York University and SUNY-New Paltz.
