Field Hockey Looks To Make Program History Saturday

HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 13, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team will be looking for its first trip to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament Saturday, when it matches-up with No. 4 Ursinus College. 

GAME INFO
Game time is set for 11 a.m. on the campus of Ursinus. 

LAST TIME OUT
Led by goals from senior Dailyn Brook, junior Nolie Prouty, and sophomore Victoria Alvarez, the Ducks knocked-off Mount Holyoke College 3-1 Wednesday in the first round in Hoboken.

SCOUTING REPORT
Ursinus (17-3) features four different players who've scored at least 10 goals, led by 17 from Megan Keenan and Amber Steigerwalt. In goal, Danielle DeSpirito's made 51 saves with seven shutouts. 

HISTORY LESSON
Wednesday's NCAA win was the third in program history, evening the Ducks overall tournament record at 3-3. The Ducks have reached the quarterfinal twice before, but have never advanced past that stage. 

SENIOR SALUTE
With a goal and an assist on Wednesday, Brook has now scored or assisted in four consecutive games. During that stretch, Brook's accumulated 15 points. 

RED-HOT DUCKS
Since falling 3-1 on Oct. 14 against Rowan University, the Ducks have rattled-off six straight wins by outscoring opponents 21-8. The Ducks previously won seven straight this season from Sep. 13 – Sep. 27.

STONEWALL STUKE
Junior goalie Emily Stukenborg hasn't allowed more than one goal in five of the last six games. Stukenborg made nine saves Wednesday, lowering her goals against average to 1.78 on the season. 

STEPPING-UP
Sophomore Victoria Alvarez has played a key role in the Ducks current win-streak, scoring or assisting in six straight games. Alvarez is scond on the team with 13 goals and 34 points. 

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Led by seniors Briana DeGraaf and Erin Silvestri, the Ducks defense is allowing less than 10 shots per game over the last four games. The Ducks haven't been outshot in a game in nearly a month.
