HOBOKEN, N.J. (NOVEMBER 6, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team will take on Elmira College in the Empire 8 Conference Championship semifinals Saturday.
 
TOURNAMENT INFO
The Ducks will battle the Soaring Eagles at 12 p.m. in the first semifinal match, while Ithaca College and Nazareth College are in the second semifinal at 2:30 p.m. 

#ALLRISE GAME 
The semifinal match has been named of the #AllRise games of the week, along with the women's soccer match against Houghton College. The Ducks are 1-1 i #AllRise games, knocking off the College of New Rochelle on senior day last week,
 
DUCKS VS. THE FIELD
Stevens went 3-0 against the other three teams in the tournament, winning all three matches in straight sets.
 
IT'S….TOBIN TIME
Junior outside hitter Mary Tobin was selected as Empire 8 player of the year earlier in the week, becoming the first player since Samantha Gates in 2013 to win the award. Tobin leads the Ducks with 375 kills and was second on the club with 355 digs, and was also named First Team All-E8. The Boothwyn, Pa. native became the third player in program history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
 
SYD THE KID
Sophomore libero Sydni Horner claimed Empire 8 Libero/Defensive Specialist of the year honors, while also being named First Team All-E8. Horner leads the E8 with 626 digs, and recorded her 1,000^th career dig earlier in the year.
 
"STINE" MACHINE
Junior Christina Sciarra was named Second Team All-E8, the first all-conference honor she has received. Sciarra has tallied 305 kills and is third on the team with 36 service aces.
 
BRI'S BEST
Sophomore Brianna Evans was also selected to the Second Team All-E8, registering 204 kills and 36 service aces. In conference action, Evans notched 58 kills, which was good for eighth in the E8.
 
THREE-PEAT
Head coach Glenn DeHaven and assistant coach Kevin Aeckerle were selected as Empire 8 coaching staff of the year. The honor marks the third consecutive year that DeHaven has collected the award.
