Women’s Fencing Faces Stiff Competition At Brandeis

WALTHAM, Mass. (February 1, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team faced a quartet of Division I institutions Sunday at the Brandeis Invitational.
 
Battling injuries and illness, the Ducks went 0-5 on the day with losses to Brandeis (19-8), Brown University (19-8), Boston College (16-11), Duke University (18-9), and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (21-6).
 
Freshman Abby Kaye highlighted the Ducks efforts with an 11-4 day at foil, while freshman Erin Hatcher went 3-0 against Duke at epee.
 
Other strongpoints for the Ducks included a foil and sabre win over Boston College, and an epee with over Brown.
 
The Ducks will stay local this weekend when they travel to Teaneck for the FDU Invitational.
