HOBOKEN, N.J. (SEPTEMBER 13, 2015) – Julie Glover scored with 46 seconds remaining in the first overtime to give New York University a 1-0 win over the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team Sunday.
The win gave NYU 13 points to claim the 12
th Annual Engineering Cup. Stevens, the defending champions, finished in third with six with Vassar College placing second with eight points. Whitman College ended in fourth place with one point.
The Violets Maddy Clappin was named Defensive Most Valuable Player while Stevens freshman
Zisi Komar claimed Offensive Most Valuable Player honors.

th minute rang off the crossbar and freshman
Olivia Butera had chances in the 27
th and 30
th minute, but both attempts were stopped by Cassie Steinberg. Melissa Menta had a shot with 2:49 remaining that was stopped by sophomore
Lindsey Mahnken.
The Ducks best opportunity came with a shade over 10 minutes remaining. Sophomore
Katie Goncalves had a header off a free kick from sophomore
Megan Lynes went wide. With 3:39 left, freshman
Laura Malacane had a shot blocked and the game went into overtime.
In the extra frame, Mahnken made a stop on Jess Wong 2:53 in, but Glover lofted a shot from about 30 yards out that was just far enough out of Mahnken's reach to give the Violets the victory.
Nassif and Goncalves had three shots apiece while Butera and Malacane tallied two each. Mahnken made three saves while allowing just the one goal.
Wong finished with two shots while Steinberg made 10 saves for her third shutout of the season.\
The Ducks are back home Saturday for their Empire 8 Conference opener as Houghton College comes to Hoboken for a 1 p.m. kick.
