Women’s Volleyball To Host Ducks Classic

HOBOKEN, N.J. (SEPTEMBER 17, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team hosts the Ducks Classic Friday and Saturday, with the team looking to bounce back after a loss to SUNY-New Paltz Wednesday.

SCHEDULE
The Ducks will take on Arcadia University and Stockton University Friday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. before battling Kean University and Endicott College Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

WEDNESDAY REWIND
Stevens fell in four sets to regional rival New Paltz in their last match. Junior Mary Tobin and sophomore Brianna Evans each tallied 15 kills to the setback.

MILESTONE SETTING
Senior Catie Shelton recorded her 600th career assist in last night's match. The four year veteran has thrived in the starting setter role, dishing out 299 assists through 10 matches so far.

IN-STATE RIVALRY
The match against Stockton should be the match of the tournament. Both squads won their respective conferences last year to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. In fact, the Ospreys have won the New Jersey Athletic Conference eight of the last nine years. The Ducks faced both Stockton and Kean last year, knocking off both in straight sets.

BRAND NEW
Stevens has never played Endicott or Arcadia in their history. The Knights are coming off a 15-10 campaign in 2014, while the Gulls finished 18-17.
