Women’s Soccer Looks To Rebound Against Mount Saint Mary

HOBOKEN, N.J. (SEPTEMBER 8, 2015) – After falling to No. 3 Messiah College Saturday, the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team looks to pick up a victory over Mount Saint Mary College Wednesday.

END OF THE ROAD
The Ducks split the first two road games of the season, knocking off No. 12 Montclair State University 2-1 before dropping a 3-0 decision to Messiah. After the clash against the Knights, the Ducks have four consecutive home games and won't be on the road until September 26.

GOALIE REPORT
After making two saves against Montclair, sophomore Lindsey Mahnken saw a lot of action Saturday as the Falcons fired 31 shots in total. Mahnken tied her career high by making nine saves and kept Messiah off the scoreboard during the first half.

FRESHMAN IMPACT
A trio of freshman; Zisi Komar, Erin Mellett and Olivia Butera have started the first two games of their college careers. Komar and Butera have combined for three shots while Mellett was part of the back line that held the Red Hawks offense to just five shots in the season opener last Tuesday.

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
The Ducks have to be watchful of senior Melissa Guillemette, who leads the Knights with two goals and six shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Mary Riley has registered a pair of shutouts to go along with 17 saves in three starts this year.

BECAUSE IT'S THE CUP
Stevens will have its home opener Saturday as it takes on Vassar College in the first game of the 12th Annual Engineering Cup at 12:30 p.m. The Ducks also welcome New York University and Whitman College to the tournament this year.
