Women’s Fencing Wins Three In Boston

BOSTON, Mass. (January 30, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team went 3-2 Saturday at the Eric Sollee Invitational in Boston.

The Ducks topped Massachusetts Institute of Technology 19-8, Brandeis University 15-12, and New Jersey Institute of Technology 19-8, and fell to Boston College and Brown University 17-10 and 16-11 respectively.

Sophomore Abby Kaye led all Stevens fencers with 12 wins at foil, while freshman Amanda Choy went 9-4 to lead the Ducks at epee. Freshman Julie McEldoon rounded out the top Stevens epee fencers with a 7-3 day.

Freshman Michelle Drobish led the Ducks at sabre with a 9-3 record, while sophomore Karen Kong and freshman Julia Yang went 8-4 and 7-5 respectively. 

Freshman Madeleine Daniell also recorded a winning day for the Ducks, going 5-4 at sabre. 

The Ducks will return to the strips next Sunday at the FDU Invitational in Teaneck.
