Box Score 2 UTICA, N.Y. (October 1, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team picked up two wins Saturday at the Utica Tournament, including an Empire 8 Conference win over host Utica.
The Ducks improve to 18-2 and 4-0 in the E8.
STEVENS 3, UTICA 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-10)
Stevens held Utica to a -.025 hitting percentage, including a -.111 in the second set. Senior
Mary Tobin led the way with 10 kills and nine digs, while freshman
Sara Hain had five kills and a block. Sophomore
Brianna Perez served up a team best four aces, while dishing out 28 assists.
STEVENS 3, POTSDAM 0, (25-15, 25-14, 25-13; box score to follow)
Tobin once again led the team with nine kills, tallying 12 digs in the process. The freshman trio of
Taleen Mitchell,
Shelby Stewart and Hain combined for 20 kills, with Stewart picking up seven total blocks, (three solo, four assists). Junior
Sydni Horner was tops on the squad with 19 digs while also adding an ace.
The Ducks will be back in action on Wednesday, taking on Vassar for Senior Night at 7 p.m.
