Women’s Volleyball Hits The Road For Three Matches

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 20, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball hits the road for three matches Friday and Saturday.

MATCH INFO
The Ducks will play a single match at Susquehanna on Friday at 8 p.m. before heading to Alfred for a tri-match against the Saxons and St. John Fisher Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
Stevens held NYU to a negative hitting percentage in two of the three sets en route to 3-0 sweep over the Violets on Wednesday.

SUSQUEHANNA REPORT
The River Hawks enter match with a 23-5 record, including six straight. Morgan Lowe leads the way with 276 kills while Maggie O'Hearn has handed out 802 assists.

E8 RUNDOWN
Fisher and Alfred are both fighting for the fourth and final Empire 8 Conference playoff spot, with the Cardinals sitting at 4-2 and Alfred at 3-3 in the E8. The Ducks will look to clinch their fourth straight regular season crown with wins this weekend.

MOVIN' ON UP
Sophomore Brianna Perez, junior Sydni Horner and freshman Shelby Stewart all entered the top-15 in individual NCAA leaders. Perez sits ninth with 921 assists, while Horner is 14th with 509 digs. Additionally, Stewart is 10th with 1.21 blockers per set.

TOP OF THE REGION
The first set of NCAA Regional Rankings were released yesterday, and the Ducks are ranked No. 1 in the New York region. Ithaca and Clarkson round out the top three in the region.

STEVENS INVITATIONAL RECAP
Springfield took home the tournament crown by going 4-0, while freshman Sara Hain and Horner were named to the All-Tournament team.

HAIN TRAIN
For the fourth straight contest, Hain hit over .375. Against NYU, she belted seven kills on 13 attempts while recording five total blocks.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Senior Mary Tobin picked up her third double-double in the last four matches with 12 kills and 18 digs in the win Wednesday. The 18 digs were a three-set season high for Tobin.
