ALLIANCE, Ohio (November 19, 2016) – The No. 11 Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team won all five of its matchups by a combined 171-57 margin Saturday at the Mount Union Duals.
The one-day event was housed on the campus of Mount Union in Northeast Ohio. Stevens won twice against Mount Union, and once against Heidelberg, No. 19 Baldwin Wallace and Alma.
STEVENS 37, MOUNT UNION (BLACK) 8
Sophomore
Michael Heck opened the match with a dominating 17-2 technical fall win, followed by sophomore
Joey Borai's 4:54 fall at 133. Freshman
Dylan Van Sickell tallied a 17-4 major at 141, before junior
Zach Wilhelm went 16-0 at 149 in the technical fall.
Mount Union came back with a major win at 157, but senior
Colin Navickas answered with a technical fall win at 165, followed by decision victories at 174 and 184 for junior
Josh Smith senior
Danny Moore respectively.
Junior
A.J. Kowal capped the win with a fall at 197 in 3:19, sealing the dominating win for Stevens.

Troy Stanich opened things up with a pair of falls at 125 and 133 respectively, before Van Sickell extended the lead to 16 with a 10-2 major at 141. Stanich (No. 3) topped ninth-ranked Ryan Hornack in the win.
Wilhelm followed with a 14-3 major at 149, followed by a fall in 2:47 for sophomore
Thomas Poklikuha at 157. Navickas won by technical fall at 165 while Smith won by fall in 2:42, but Heidelberg did salvage points with wins at 184 and 285.
Kowal pinned his opponent at 197 however, giving Stevens the commanding 43-8 victory.

Murray and Stanich opened the match with a technical fall and pin respectively, but Mount Union responded with a pin at 141 to cut the lead in half.
Wilhelm righted the ship however with a technical fall win at 149, followed by a fall for Poklikuha and major for Navickas. Mount Union won twice more at 174 and 285, but a decision win by Moore at 184 followed by Kowal's third pin of the day at 197 gave the Ducks more than enough points they needed for the win.

A Murray 4-1 decision win followed by a Stanich major put Stevens up 7-0, before Van Sickell and Wilhelm's decision victories at 141 and 149 respectively extended the lead to 13. Poklikuha followed with 12-2 major at 157, but Baldwin Wallace answered with a fall at 165, a major at 174 and a decision at 184.
Kowal got the Ducks back on track with a 7-0 decision win at 197 over No. 8 Tyler Maclellan, giving the Ducks the points they needed for the win.

Wilhelm extended the win streak with a 15-3 major at 149, before Poklikuha took down Jared Fleming 15-0. Navickas followed with a fall in 1:57, before Moore and Kowal each had pins at 184 and 197 respectively to polish off the Stevens wins.
