Men’s Basketball Seeks Wins During E8 Road Trip

HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 4, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team (8-10, 4-5) will look to stay in the Empire 8 Conference Championship mix this weekend with road games at Houghton College and Alfred University.

WEEKEND INFO
The road trip starts Friday with a 6 p.m. game at Houghton, before Saturday's contest at 2 p.m. at Alfred University.

LAST TIME OUT
Senior Alex Lorenz's layup in the closing seconds sent the Ducks into overtime against No. 22 New York University Tuesday, before the Ducks fell in the extra frame, 74-66.

TAKING A LOOK
At 8-10 (3-7), Houghton is coming off an overtime loss to Utica College, while Alfred (8-11, 4-6) will be hosting Hartwick College on Friday night after a win last weekend against Utica.

WHERE THEY STAND
The Ducks enter the weekend in fifth place in the E8 sitting just behind Ithaca College (5-5), and slightly ahead of Alfred.

ROAD WARRIORS
With the non-conference slate now complete, Stevens will play five of its last seven games on the road, all against E8 opponents.

SECOND TIME AROUND
The Ducks already played both Houghton and Alfred in a home back-to-back this season, resulting in a double-digit win against the Highlanders and a four-point loss to Alfred.

SEEING DOUBLE
Lorenz has tallied double-doubles in three of the last four games for the Ducks, giving him six total for the season.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY
With a 19-point performance Tuesday against NYU, junior Patrick Barron extended his double-digit scoring streak to six. Barron's hit the mark in 11 of the last 12 games.

BALL HANDLE
Sophomore Chris Cosgrove has limited his turnovers to less than two in Stevens' last three games, and owns the best assist/turnover ratio in the conference.
