After a Hawks service error put the Ducks up 12-7, Hunter countered with six of the next eight to make the deficit back to a single point. Hunter would retake the lead after a service ace to go up 20-19, but would take the match takes to a double block by senior Etan Bennett and freshman Jacob Patterson.

Senior Tim Ferriter recorded 12 kills, while junior Gabe Shankweiler had 11 kills and a pair of aces. Freshman Niko Lambert led the unit with seven digs.
