MADISON, N.J. (March 2, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team used a 14 goal first half to top FDU-Florham 15-7 on Wednesday.
The Ducks moved to 3-0 while FDU fell to 0-2.
Sophomore
Tommy Dawson opened the scoring for the Ducks just 1:29 in the first quarter. Freshman
Dean Peluso netted a pair in the first quarter, with junior
Connor Towne and seniors
Matt Ferentini and
Andrew Scrutchfield all added first period markers. Stevens dominated the opening 15 minutes, firing 13 shots to FDU's three.

Nick Hammell completed first half hat tricks in the second quarter, as Hammell netted his three just seven minutes apart. Matt Melnik got a goal back for the Devils, but sophomore
JP Southren answered to put the Ducks up 14-1 heading into the break.
FDU would tally the first four goals of the second half, before freshman
Tom Lawson broke the run with a goal. Daniel Minnich and Dan Sagi scored for FDU in the final quarter to establish the final 15-7 margin.

Carson White made four saves for his third victory, before sophomore
Alexander Kennedy relieved him at half and stopped six himself. Sophomore
Scott Wedgeworth and freshman
Nicholas Carnovale each won six faceoffs, and freshman
Daniel Crotty led the way with six ground balls.
Kevin Loveland and Melnik each had a pair of goals for FDU, who received 11 saves from Connor Evans.
The Ducks face a tough test Saturday, battling No. 1 Tufts University at 12 p.m.
