UTICA, N.Y. (April 9, 2016) – Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse senior
Erika Wilcox and junior
Kathleen Kalbian each scored four times Saturday to lead the Ducks to a 13-8 win over Utica College.
The win moved Stevens to 6-5 (3-1), while Utica now sits at 6-5 (1-2).
Kalbian and Wilcox also combined for five draw controls, while junior
Mariel Haubrich added two assists and a goal. Sophomore
Victoria Alvarez caused four turnovers and won five times on the draw, and freshman

Stevens outshot Utica 25-21, and forced 14 turnovers, while sophomore
Stephanie Schnelzer made eight saves in the cage to earn the win.
Utica struck first in the game's first two minutes to grab the early lead, but Kalbian connected on the equalizer three minutes later off a pass from freshman
Mackenzie Metzler. Wilcox put the Ducks in front soon after with a free-position goal, followed by another off a feed from Haubrich with 16:42 left on the clock.
Wilcox earned the hat-trick two minutes later, before junior
Mary Beth Irwin and sophomore
Julianna Ricci extended the Stevens lead to five with their first goals of the game.
Utica answered back with a goal in the ninth minute, and added another in the closing seconds, but two more Stevens goals sandwiched in-between from Haubrich and Kalbian put the Ducks up 8-3 heading into the break.
Junior
Laura Roberts made in 9-3 early in the second, before Utica creeped closer with four unanswered to get within two. Wilcox ended the drought however, sparking a 4-0 Stevens run to put the game away for good.
The Ducks will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Arcadia University for a 4 p.m. game.
