Men’s Soccer Opens E8 Play At Ithaca

HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 16, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team will open the Empire 8 Conference portion of its schedule Sunday on the road at Ithaca College.

MATCH INFO
Match time is set for noon Sunday at Carp Wood Field in Ithaca.

LAST TIME OUT
Stevens and Haverford played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer Wednesday night in a 0-0 draw in Hoboken. 

SCOUTING REPORT
Ithaca brings a 2-3-0 record into play this weekend having won its last two by a combined 6-0 score. Nathan Schoen has been the Bombers top scorer with three goals, while Zach Jacobsen has 14 saves playing the majority of the minutes in goal.

IT TAKES TWO
Stevens and Ithaca have met twice in each of the last two seasons including twice in the E8 final. Stevens has won all four, three of which have been by a 1-0 margin.

DUCK DYNASTY
Stevens has won nine consecutive E8 titles, and hasn't dropped a conference match since 2009. 

NET MINDER
Sophomore Aaron Henry recorded his first career shutout Wednesday night, lowering his season goals against average to 0.71 in the process. Henry has played every minute for Stevens in goal so far this season.

D IS KEY
Led by junior Patrick Boylan, Stevens' defense has the third lowest opponent scoring average mark in the E8. Sophomores Nicholas Cousillas and Jimmy Doran join Boylan as the three who've started all four games on the Ducks backline. 

TAKING AIM
Since becoming a forward at the beginning of the season, junior Tommy Dorsay is second in the E8 with 14 shots. 

HIT THE ROAD QUACK
Sunday's match will be the first of three straight away from Hoboken for the Ducks in a slate that includes the Merchant Marine Academy, and St. John Fisher.
