HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 6, 2016) – After a four game road trip, the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team hosts Hunter College Wednesday.
MATCH INFO
First serve at Canavan Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. A serving contest will be held between sets two and three, with the winners receiving some Stevens apparel.
WEEKEND UPDATE
The Ducks went 3-1 on their California trip, dropping only a 3-0 decision to No. 1 California Lutheran University. The team topped Whittier College, the University of Minnesota-Morris and Rhodes College.
HUNTER REPORT
The Hawks enter with a 3-1 record, after qualifying for the NCAA Tournament last fall. Hunter fell to Christopher Newport University in the First Round in 2015.

The Ducks picked up a 3-0 victory last fall at Hunter, with senior
Mary Tobin registering 18 kills in the match.

Head Coach
Glenn DeHaven didn't have to wait long to hit 100 career wins. Entering the year sitting on 99, DeHaven picked up win 100 in the season-opener, joining
Patrick Dorywalski and
J.J. O'Connell as the three coaches in program history to reach 100 wins.
TOBIN TIME
Through four matches, Tobin has recorded 40 kills to lead the club while also chipping in 41 digs. Tobin hit .371 against Cal-Lutheran, registering 14 kills and seven digs. Earlier in the day against Rhodes, the senior slugged .480 with 13 kills and 11 digs.
DON'T MESS WITH TEX
Sophomore
Brianna Perez has dished out 116 assists in four matches, sending out no fewer than 24 assists in a match. Perez sent 33 helpers against Minnesota-Morris, four off her career-high.
ACES UP
The team has combined for 34 aces while surrendering only seven so far this season. Freshman
Casey King and Perez each have tallied seven, while sophomore
Emily Piekarski is second with six.
FRESH FACES
A trio of freshman;
Shelby Stewart,
Sara Hain and King have thrived in starting roles this season. Stewart and Hain have combined 22.0 blocks, while King has slammed home 34 kills.
HORNS UP
Junior
Sydni Horner, who is coming off a season where she was named Empire 8 Conference Defensive Specialist of the Year, is off to a hot start. Horner has 75 digs, including a season-best 34 against Minnesota-Morris, which was six off her career-high.
