Men’s Soccer battles CSI to scoreless draw

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 11, 2017)  – Sophomore goalkeeper Mitko Bozinov made three saves as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team battled the College of Staten Island to a scoreless draw Wednesday at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.

In just the third meeting between the programs, and the first-ever in Hoboken, Stevens controlled play, outshooting the visiting Dolphins by nearly a 2-1 margin (26-13). It was the sustained offensive pressure that led to Stevens earning the best scoring opportunity on the afternoon. Freshman Stephen Johnson headed a ball towards the far post in the 61st minute that CSI goalkeeper Balint Barabas dove to his left and snagged the ball from high in the air before the ball was able to sneak into the back corner of the net.

The draw extended the Stevens unbeaten streak to four as the Ducks moved to 7-4-2. Barabas made seven saves for Staten Island, who closed play at 9-4-1. It was the final road fixture of the season for Staten Island.
