Women’s Soccer Set for E8 Title Defense

ONEONTA, N.Y. (November 1, 2017) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team, ranked No. 16 in the nation and winners of a share of the Empire 8 regular season title, will head to Oneonta, New York this weekend looking for its third-straight conference tournament title.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP INFO
Though they finished in a three-way tie for first, the Ducks come out as the No. 3 seed according to league tiebreakers. After host Hartwick tangles with No. 4 Alfred University, Stevens will look to avenge its only conference loss at 7p.m. against No. 2 seed Nazareth College.
 
The winners of the two semifinal matches will meet for the Empire 8 title at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening.

LAST TIME OUT
Stevens closed out its season with a 3-0 victory over Houghton College. Julia Panko scored every goal for the Ducks for her first career hat trick, Gabby Pagkalinawan earned two of the assists and Lindsey Mahnken was part of her ninth shutout this season.

STEVENS VS. THE FIELD
The Ducks went 2-1 against the field, winning by a combined margin of 8-4. Both wins came at home. 

DUCK DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE
The Ducks have allowed just eight goals in 16 games all season. Stevens sports an 11-3-2 record this year and went 7-1 in the Empire 8 conference.

HISTORY LESSON
Stevens is 8-4-2 in its history in the championship.
