Women’s Fencing Goes 6-1 to Start Season

POUGHEEPSIE, N.Y. (November 12, 2017) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team went 6-1 against a challenging slate on Sunday at the Vassar Invitational in their first dual matches of the season.
 
The Ducks downed Hunter College, Sacred Heart University, University of the Incarnate Word, Wellesley College, Wagner College and Drew University.
 
Junior epeeist Amanda Choy earned her 100th career win today.
 
Senior Abby Kaye went 18-1 for the entire day at foil.
 
Julie McEldoon (epee) and Julia Yang (sabre) both went 12-5 at the event in other highlights.

"It was a good day for us and we beat some tough teams. It was a great start to our dual meet season and I'm proud of the way we fenced."
 
Stevens will return to action on Monday against New York University.
