MONTCLAIR, N.J. (March 1, 2017) – Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse freshman
Kyra Bednarski set a new career high with six goals Wednesday as the Ducks defense shutdown Montclair St. in a 13-3 road win.
The win moved Stevens to 2-0 on the young season, while Montclair St. fell to 1-1.

Victoria Alvarez, Stevens' defensive unit forced Montclair into 16 turnovers.
Santor gave the Ducks the early lead with an unassisted goal less than two minutes into regulation, before scores from Bednarski and Condren made it 3-0 nine minutes in. Kalbian got into the scoring five minutes later off a feed from Santor, before Condren picked up her second of the day with 13 minutes to go in the half.
Shanklin converted her first career goal less than a minute later off a free-position shot, but Montclair finally broke through with under five to play to cut Stevens' lead to five heading into the break.
Stevens continued to pour it on with three goals from Bednarski over the first 10 minutes of the second, before two more from Shanklin answered Montclair's goal and made it 11-2.
The Red Hawks broke through once more with under four to play, but Bednarski registered two more to put the finishing touches on her new career high and help Stevens cruise to the blowout win.
Stevens will return home Saturday for an 11 a.m. match against Rowan, before heading west to play two in southern California on March 13 and 14.
