HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 17, 2018) – Junior Taleen Mitchell recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 20 digs, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team fell to Hunter College 3-2 (15-25, 25-13, 24-26, 25-17, 13-15) Wednesday night in a non-conference match.
Junior Julie Greco dished out 26 assists while classmate Shelby Stewart added 11 kills for the Ducks, who fell to 20-7 overall.
Hunter was led by Kylie Hurst with 11 kills and 23 digs and Taylor Haiduk with 12 kills and 17 digs. The Hawks improve to 19-6.
Volleys and Points
- Hunter opened the match with a 5-0 lead before committing a service error.
- Following a Stevens' timeout, the Ducks scored five points to bring themselves within three (9-6).
- After back-to-back kills and a service ace by the Hawks, Hunter was able to distance themselves from the Ducks to win the first set.
