HOUGHTON, N.Y. (October 6, 2018) – Junior Julia Panko recorded her third career multi-goal match to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Houghton College Saturday in an Empire 8 Conference fixture on Burke Field.
Panko netted the first two goals of the match and has posted consecutive multi-goal games against the Highlanders. The Millstone Township, New Jersey native, who also collected a second-half assist, has recorded a multi-goal performance in each of her three seasons on Castle Point.
The Ducks, who extended their winning streak to six, saw four different players record goals. In addition to Panko's two goals, freshman Ally Wanzor, freshman Fiona Matthews and sophomore Taylor Schaad each found the back of the Highlander's net. Stevens improved to 8-2 on the season and is a perfect 4-0 in the Empire 8.
Rachel Fortney made two saves and Sadie Dunnett added nine saves for the Highlanders. Houghton falls to 5-3-2 overall and 0-3-1 in the conference and has dropped three of its last four matches.
