Michelle Drobish recorded her 200th win at sabre while juniors
Nicole Strezewski and
Allison Urban-Spillane each tallied their 100th win at foil as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team went 6-1 at the Vassar Invitational.
The team fenced valiantly and topped Wellesley College (14-11), Sacred Heart University (18-9), University of the Incarnate Word (18-9), Hunter College (26-1), Wagner College (20-7), Drew University (18-9). The Ducks' only loss of the day came from Division I powerhouse Northwestern, with a score of 16-11
Top Finishers
- Drobish and senior Julia Yang each finished the day with a record of 18-2 at sabre.
- Also at sabre was freshman Kiera Barnes, who ended with a 14-4 record for the day.
- Epee was led by senior Amanda Choy finished at 13-6, while classmate Julie McEldoon followed with a record of 10-8.
- At foil, freshman Kayleigh Kubit led with a record of 12-5.
- Urban-Spillane and Strezewski finished at foil with records of 9-7 and 8-8, respectively.
