UTICA, N.Y. (February 17, 2018) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team fell to Utica College in overtime 75-71 in the final action of the Empire 8 regular season on Saturday. The Ducks enjoyed leads in each period, including OT, but could not put away the pesky Pioneers.
 
Spencer Cook had 19 points to lead the Ducks and added eight rebounds, just one off the team pace set by 
Thomas Cook. 
Jayson Winick also had eight boards and added 10 points and a team-best three assists.
 
Kevin Florio shot 4-6 from the floor and made his only shot from behind the arc for a very efficient nine points, while 
Michael Zignorski was 2-3 from downtown on his way to a dozen for the Ducks. He also led the team with four steals.
 
Ivan Iton led Utica with 29 pints on 9-14 shooting, and earned a double-double with 11 rebounds. He added 11 points from the line.

The Ducks lock up with Utica again, this time in the opening round of the Empire 8 Tournament as the No.2 seed against the third-seeded Pioneers. That matchup will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, with the winner moving on to the league's championship game the next day at 4 p.m. All games will take place at top seed Nazareth College in Pittsford, New York.
