Men’s Tennis closes Spring Break Trip with setback to No. 22 Kenyon

  • Short Story: Freshman Mark Kanevsky rallied for a three-set victory at No. 5 singles, however the Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team fell to No. 22 Kenyon College 8-1 Thursday in a non-conference match at the United States Tennis Association National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The match closed out both program's Spring Break trip. It was the fourth-ever meeting between Stevens and Kenyon, with the Lords claiming victory in all four matches.

How It Happened
  • Senior Kyle Henry and freshman Bryan Szayna fell 8-2 at No. 2 doubles to open the scoring. 
  • The Lords earned 8-4 and 8-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take a 3-0 lead in the match.
  • Kenyon claimed each of the first four singles decisions to clinch the match.
  • After dropping the opening set, Kanevsky earned his second win of the trip with an 0-6, 6-0, 10-4 victory over Bryan Yoshino. Each of the Dallas, Texas native's victories over Spring Break came via a third-set tiebreaker.
  • Henry dropped a close 6-1, 7-6 decision at fourth singles to close out the match,
