Ryan Gebhardt each recorded a hat trick as No. 17 Stevens Institute of Technology Men's Lacrosse scored 13 unanswered goals to overcome an early deficit en route to an 18-5 victory over Haverford College Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.
Fifteen different players registered a point for Stevens, who won its second straight game to improve to 5-1 on the year.
Stephen DeLeo and Isaac Krier each had a goal and an assist for Haverford, who fell to 3-3. Although Haverford leads the all-time series 4-3, Stevens has bested the Fords in each of the last three meetings..
"After the first quarter, our guys really got going," head coach
Gene Peluso said. "Haverford is a very good defensive team. We were able to get good shots and we are proud of our young midfielders for getting us going."

Sean Kunz each collected an assist to round out the Stevens scoring. Kunz's fourth-quarter helper was the Branchburg, New Jersey native's first collegiate point.
Despite the 23 total goals on the afternoon, the game was a defensive battle over the opening 15 minutes with the teams combining for just six shots on goal in the first quarter. Junior
Carson White made four early saves in the period to keep Haverford's offense in check. The Fords finally broke through against the Downingtown, Pennsylvania native late in the stanza, when Ryan Tetro beat White over the shoulder for his third goal of the season.
The visiting Fords extended their lead in the second before the potent Stevens offense scored twice in a 34-second span to even the game. DeLeo netted his 10th of the season to briefly give Haverford a 3-2 lead before the Ducks seized control of the game.
After DeLeo's tally, Haverford was unable to possess the ball in the attacking third for the next 7:18. Wedgeworth was dominant in the faceoff circle during the game-defining stretch, winning five straight faceoffs. The Jackson, New Jersey native was 22-2 inside the 'X' as the Ducks went 23-3 on the day.

Scott Wedgeworth did an excellent job on faceoffs and got us going," Peluso commented.
The Ducks tied the game at three on Bailey's first goal of the game. The junior attackman finished the afternoon with three. Dawson found the back of the net on the ensuing possession to give Stevens its first lead of the afternoon. Gebhardt scored consecutive goals to give the hosts a three-goal lead before Haverford was able to get the ball back into its offensive third. White saved a Kevin Goshorn shot leading to Boutureira's marker on the next possession, giving the Ducks a 7-3 edge at halftime.
Wedgeworth's dominance in the 'X' continued in the second half as the senior won the opening faceoff of the third quarter. Rogers found Bailey for his second tally of the day to give Stevens an 8-3 lead. The Ducks would incrementally increase their lead to 15-3 before Haverford was able to successfully clear the ball. The Fords recorded their first clear of the period at the 3:31 mark of the third quarter, but didn't record their first shot of the period for another two minutes.
"Our defense played solid and we were excellent in the middle of the field," Peluso added. "I'm proud of the week our guys had with big wins against Skidmore and Haverford."
The teams alternated goals to open the fourth quarter. O'Connor's goal with two minutes left in the game rounded out the scoring.
Defensively, sophomore
Alec Caseiro matched Haverford's Chandler Todd and Max Ellis with two caused turnovers. As a team, Haverford held a 9-8 advantage in caused turnovers. Wedgeworth led all players with 12 ground balls as the Ducks picked up 38 as a team.
White made nine saves to earn his fifth win of the year. Sophomore
Jack Braswell and freshman
Danny Tierney combined for three saves in relief. Dylan Slack allowed 13 goals to take the loss for Haverford.
Stevens killed off both of its penalties and turned two man-up opportunities into one goal. Dawson beat Ethan Donlon in the third quarter for third 'Up' goal of the season.
