ELMIRA, N.Y. (April 18, 2018) – Freshman
Sean Kunz registered a career-high six points, 14 different players found the back of the net, and No. 14 Stevens Institute of Technology Men's Lacrosse defeated Elmira College 22-1 Wednesday in an Empire 8 Conference matchup at Notre Dame High School.
Freshman
Collin Sorady recorded his first collegiate points with two goals and two assists and freshman
Ryan Gebhardt recorded his seventh hat trick of the season for Stevens, who improved to 12-2 on the year and a perfect 5-0 in conference play. A victory over Alfred Saturday in the next-to-last league game of the year would hand Stevens the Empire 8's regular season title for the second straight season.
Jacob Magnoli had the lone score for Elmira, who fell to 1-8 on the year and 1-4 in the Empire 8.

Max Bailey added to his impressive season total with a goal and two assists. Sophomore

Tim Spears. Stevens fired 52 shots on the day with 35 being on goal. The 22 goals marked the second-highest total of the season.

Andrew Cottrell with a goal and an assist. The two-point effort marked the first collegiate points for Cottrell, who returned to game action for the first time in nearly two seasons. Sophomores

Junior
Carson White didn't register a save in 15 minutes of action to earn the victory. All five goalies saw the field for Stevens, who held Elmira to just three shots on goal. Freshman
Danny Tierney had both of Stevens' saves on the evening. Jacob Mattice made 10 saves for Elmira in the loss.
Stevens went a perfect 14-for-14 on clears and forced Elmira into committing 26 turnovers. The Soaring Eagles were just 9 of 23 on the clear. The Ducks held a 23-3 edge in the 'X', with freshman
Trey Kiessling picking up a career-high 12 wins in the 'X'. Murphy went 6-1 in the faceoff circle. Junior
Nicholas Carnovale and senior
Scott Wedgeworth combined for the other five faceoff wins. The decisive edge in the 'X' helped Stevens to a 56-19 advantage in ground balls. Kunz forced a game-high three turnovers and Kiessling led the team with six ground balls. Elmira's Kevin DiMagno scooped up seven ground balls to lead all players.
Stevens went 2-for-4 on the man-advantage, while keeping the Soaring Eagles off the board in their lone man-up situation of the day.
Stevens scored seven times in the opening quarter to put the game away. Bailey scored his 18th of the year on a feed from Reed to put the guests on the board first. Monteleone scored twice in a 59-second span to push the lead to three. Radbourne and Rogers collected back-to-back goals in a 32-second stretch to give Stevens a five-goal lead. Radbourne and Spears each found the back of the net before the first period buzzer sounded.
Gebhard scored three straight goals to open the second quarter. Ranaldi, Sorady and Kunz each beat Mattice before Magnoli put Elmira on the board with 18 seconds remaining in the frame. The Ducks added five goals in the third and four in the fourth to account for the team's final total.
Stevens has reached double figures in 13 of matches this season and is among the nation's top offenses.
