ALFRED, N.Y. (April 21, 2018) – The No. 23 Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team decimated Alfred University 22-1 in Empire 8 play on Saturday. The Ducks remain unbeaten in the league and moved to 11-3 on the year.
The Ducks romped to a 14-0 halftime lead and scored the first 21 goals of the game. Stevens did not allow a goal from the field; the only time the Saxons scored came on a free-position shot with 12:19 left in the game.
Stevens has won its last three games – all Empire 8 affairs - by a combined score of 60-7.
Kyra Bednarski scored six goals to lead the Ducks offensively and also paced the team with three assists, and honor she shared with
Hannah Condren and
Cami Santor.
Condren, Santor,
Julianna Ricci and
Brianne Salera all notched hat tricks in the game.
Emily Shanklin filled the stat sheet with two goals, two caused turnovers, one ground ball and a team-high seven draw controls.
Santor also contributed all over, with three goals, three assists, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
