HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 7, 2018) – Sophomore
Emily Shanklin had a career-best five goals and five draw controls to lead the No. 20 Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team to a 16-8 victory over Utica College on Saturday. Both teams went in knowing that the winning would occupy first place in the Empire 8 Conference.
The Pioneers scored first, but Stevens scored the next three to take control. In fact, the seven of the next eight goals belonged to the Ducks as they put a stranglehold on the game. After one more goal by UC to stop a 4-0 run,

Four of Shanklin's goals came in the first half.
Santor and Shanklin kicked off the second half with a goal each as the Ducks continued to pad their lead. Utica was never able to score more than once in a row; Stevens had an answer each time the Pioneers parried in the second period.

- Bednarski led the team with three assists
- Mackenzie Metzler and Santor both scored twice
- In addition to leading the team with five goals and five draw controls, Shanklin also led the Ducks with three ground balls and four forced turnovers
