• Short Story: No. 37 Stevens Institute of Technology Men's Tennis dropped just six points on the afternoon en route to a 5-0 victory over Salem State University in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.
• The records: Stevens: 16-9; Salem State: 13-5
• Of note: It's the sixth time in the last eight seasons that Stevens has earned an NCAA Tournament victory. 
• Also of note: The victory was the ninth straight for Stevens Men's Tennis. The Ducks have not lost a point since April 22 and have secured 35 consecutive points against their opponents.

    
How It Happened

• Meeting for the first time in at least 15 seasons, the Ducks opened the match with an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles. The duo of senior Danny Polk and freshman Bryan Szayna top Salem State's top duo 8-2 for their eighth straight win. The pair improved to 15-3 on the year.
• The senior tandem of William Persson and Kyle Henry and the freshmen team of Mark Kanevsky and Keegan Morris posted back-to-back strikeouts to complete the doubles sweep.
• Freshman Gabriel Sifuentes earned his seventh straight win with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the sixth position to open singles play.
• Polk earned his 17th win of the year and 11th at first singles with a 6-1, 6-2 for the match-clinching point. 
• Stevens was leading in each of the other singles flights when Stevens secured the victory.
