Women's Swimming Drops Quad Meet to Swarthmore, Johns Hopkins, Rowan

  • The Lead: Junior Isabella Fairman recorded two second-place finishes as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team fell to Swarthmore College, No. 21 Rowan University and No. 5 Johns Hopkins University in Saturday's quad meet at the Berkeley Aquatic Club.

Top Finishers
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of seniors Courtney Jones and Sam Geyer, sophomore Isabelle Rivera, and Fairman touched the wall at 1:53.13 for a sixth place finish. 
  • Junior Samantha Zdesar finished fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:26.09. 
  • Geyer registered a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. 
  • Sophomore Alexis Colasurdo finished seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke followed by classmate Hannah Percely in ninth. 
  • In the 200-yard butterfly, Caroline Shusta touched the wall at 2:16.57 for an eighth-place finish followed by Madie DeJong in ninth. 
  • Jones registered a sixth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle after coming in at 25.48.
  • Fairman finished third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.24, followed by Rivera in seventh. 
  • Geyer earned third place with her time of 2:25.12 in the 200-yard breaststroke. 
  • Fairman recorded one of her second-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 5:02.02 - three milliseconds behind Johns Hopkins' Emma McElrath. 
  • In the same event, Zdesar finished sixth followed by DeJong in eighth.
  • Rivera registered an eighth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly. 
  • Fairman's second, second-place finish came in the 200-yard IM after she touched the wall at 2:11.13. Geyer was close behind for a third place finish at 2:11.84.
  • In the final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Rivera, DeJong, Zdesar and freshman Katelyn Chen finished sixth with their time of 1:43.62.
