Field Hockey Drops Double Overtime Contest 2-1 Against Misericordia

Cougars Score in 75th Minute of Second Overtime to Grab the Victory

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 12, 2019) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team went to overtime for the third consecutive MAC Freedom contest but were unable to pull out a victory as they fell 2-1 against Misericordia University Saturday at DeBaun Athletic Complex.

Junior Skylar Migliaccio scored her sixth goal of the season in the ninth minute on a penalty shot but could not add any more as they fell to 9-5 overall and 2-1 in the MAC Freedom this season.

Misericordia got a goal in the 75th minute of the second overtime from Mikayla Cavenas as well as a 14th minute score by Madisyn Granoski to move to 7-7, 2-1 in MAC Freedom play.

The Ducks out-shot the Cougars 22-5 in the contest and held a 15-3 edge in penalty corners but could not capitalize on the opportunities as Misericordia goalie Katelyn Campbell produced 14 saves in the win.
