HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 10, 2019) — The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team improved their overall record to 26-3 after defeating Hunter College (22-5), New Jersey Institute of Technology (14-13), Army West Point (22-3) and Yeshiva University (26-1) on Sunday's MACFA Round Robin Group "B" meet at Canavan Arena.

Before the start of today's meet, Stevens honored seniors George Allan, Brennan Casey, Ryan Edelstein and Timothy Steinberg for their contributions to the men's fencing program.

Freshman Andy Faubert helped the team top NJIT with his overtime win at epee. This marks the first win over the Highlanders since February of 2015 when Stevens won 16-11 in Hoboken at the exact same tournament. 

Epee

• Casey led the epee squad with an 8-3 record.
• Freshmen Wolfe Crouse and Thomas Gana each tallied five wins. Gana went undefeated, while Crouse dropped just one bout.
• Junior Ian Blakeslee and freshman Gabe Toltus each finished undefeated with four and three wins, respectively.

Foil

• The foil squad went undefeated and saw 10 Ducks record wins.
• Freshman Nick Beja led the way with a perfect 5-0 record for the day. 
• Sophomore Ean Weiss finished at 4-1. 
• Freshmen Noah Ehrlich and Ryan McLaughlin along with sophomore Ethan Grzeda and junior Carmine Freda all finished undefeated at 3-0. 
• Allan, Edelstein, junior Nicholas Gray and freshman Logan Rechler all registered two wins. 

Sabre

• Sophomore Eric Sang led the Ducks at sabre with his 6-0 record. 
• Freshman Matthew Jacobson and sophomore Sean Karg each recorded a 5-1 finish. 
• Sophomore Juan Amezquita and freshman Vaughn Rice each ended the day with a 3-2 record.
