Kyra Bednarski netted three goals, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team fell to No. 23 Rowan University 17-6 Saturday in a non-conference game at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.

Morgan Westerby also found the back of the net for the Ducks, who dropped their second straight to fall to 1-3.
Maddie Bray scored seven goals and Liz Kramer had three goals and two assists for the Profs, who improved to 2-1.
"We worked hard and continuing to get better," said head coach
Karen Shaddock. "It's been a tough start with a lot of competitive teams. We will continue to get better."
"We had an incredible effort from Peyton in net," Shaddock added. "Meredith and Regan played great as well."
Taylor made a career-high 19 saves in her second collegiate start for the Ducks, including 11 in the first half. Emma Frost made seven saves for Rowan to earn the victory.
Bray and Bednarski alternated goals to open scoring. Shannon Sterner scored on a free-position shot and Liz Kramer also found the back of the net to give the hosts a two-goal advantage. Bednarski netted her second of the game to trim the deficit to one, but Bray and Kramer scored over a 33-second stretch to give Rowan a 5-2 lead.
Westerby scored for the third time in four games, before Bray and Shanklin alternated 'Up' goals to send the teams into the intermission.
After halftime, Rowan tallied seven of the first eight goals of the second half to put the game out of reach. Shanklin added an unassisted goal and the Profs scored the final three goals of the game to provide the final margin.
For the game, Stevens was outshot by Rowan, 42-18, including a 36-13 margin in shots on net. The Ducks continue to shoot with a high efficiency, posting an 83.3 shot on goal percentage. Individually, Bray fired a game-high 13 shots, while Havers had 10. Bednarski paced the Ducks with six attempts.

Kayla Buell led all players with three caused turnovers. For the game, the Profs forced 26 Stevens miscues, while the Ducks forced 20. Rowan picked up 18 ground balls, while the Ducks scooped up 16. Buell picked up a career-high six balls to lead all players, while Westerby picked up a career-best three. Gretz, Havers and Reese Parr picked up three each to lead Rowan.
Haley Symons won seven draw controls as Rowan won 17 of 24 draws for the game. Shanklin won three of seven draws, while sophomore
Tori Bruce earned two. Westerby and freshman
Natalie Fitzpatrick each earned one.
Stevens went 11-for-21 on clears, while Rowan went an efficient 11-for-15. The Ducks scored on two of their five free-position shots, while the Profs scored on four of their 11 attempts. Shanklin went a perfect 2-for-2 on free-position shots for the second straight game. Bray score twice on two free-position attempts, while Havers and Shannon Sterner added one.
