HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 10, 2022)  – Stevens Institute of Technology Director of Athletics Russell Rogers announced Monday the promotion of Anthony Bonaventura (Wrestling), Megan Clements (Women's Lacrosse), Jill Conroy (Women's Basketball) and Kevin Stockel (Men's Lacrosse) to the role of Associate Head Coach.

"I am very excited to recognize the outstanding work of Anthony, Jill, Kevin, and Meg through the promotion to Associate Head Coach," Rogers said. "Their loyalty, hard work and commitment to our student-athletes has been a critical component in the success of each of their programs and the overall experience of our students. Our goal is for practice or competition to be the best part of the student-athlete's day and the common bond among all of these individuals is that they help make this possible through their work on a day to day basis."

Bonaventura is in the midst of his seventh season with the wrestling program after landing on Castle Point for the 2015-16 campaign. Under Bonaventura's guidance, 24 wrestlers have captured individual conference championships, 34 have competed at a national championship tournament and 20 have become All-Americans including one national finalist. In addition to the Ducks' individual successes, Bonaventura has helped guide the program to six straight conference titles and a pair of regional championships.

"Since Anthony joined our staff in 2015, his impact has been instantaneous and his passion contagious," head wrestling coach Joe Favia said. "During his tenure, Anthony has played a major role in every initiative and milestone associated with the program's rise, on and off the mats. His development and implementation of our social media presence and online initiatives has grown our program into the most followed within Stevens Athletics. Through his recruiting prowess, Anthony has helped shape our roster into the most talent rich it has ever been, which has led to the recruitment of our program's most successful wrestlers in history. His support in every aspect of the Stevens Wrestling Program has been monumental in my personal success as the head coach."

"Anthony's contributions to our program have been immense and his loyalty has been unmatched," Favia continued. "I could not think of a better individual to set the precedent for this new title within Stevens Athletics. I am excited to continue to share my role as head coach with Anthony as we continue to work in unison to build the top team in NCAA Wrestling, on and off the mat."

Clements is set for her sixth season with the Ducks after arriving in Hoboken in August of 2016. Under Clement's guidance, the Ducks have totaled 30 all-conference selections, 11 were all-region honors, three All-America awards and one national Player of the Year. In addition to the individual accolades, the Ducks have amassed 48 wins, advanced to four conference championship games and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2018.

"I am extremely excited that Meg has been promoted to Associate Head Coach," head women's lacrosse coach Karen Shaddock said. "She has had a significant impact on this program, implementing offensive concepts, working with the draw control unit, scouting opponents and elevating our recruiting system. She is passionate about the game and has grown exponentially over my time here. I am grateful for her commitment to Stevens Lacrosse and look forward to continuing to work together towards a championship."

Conroy joined the women's basketball coaching staff and is in the middle of her third season on Castle Point. Over her two-plus seasons on the bench, the Ducks have totaled 23 wins, including 12 in MAC Freedom play. Under the Brooklyn, New York native's tutelage, the Ducks have earned two all-conference selections and one co-Defensive Player of the Year honor. This year, the Ducks have posted a 10-2 record and currently sit in second place in the MAC Freedom.

"Not only does Jill impact our program on the court, but through the foundation of the Alumni Mentoring program, she has reinvigorated our alumni engagement," head women's basketball coach Megan Haughey said. "Jill is a tremendous coach, assisting daily in the on floor component of our program. She is an up and coming coach, with a ton of talent and is loved by our players. Daily, I consider myself lucky to have her by my side!"

Stockel has been a constant presence on the men's lacrosse sidelines since the 2016 season. During Stockel's tenure on Castle Point, the Ducks have totaled 77 victories, two conference championships and a pair of NCAA Tournament victories. Under the North Salem, New York's native, a total of 59 Ducks have earned all-conference honors, including nine who claimed the league's Player or Rookie of the Year award. In addition to the conference success, since Stockel joined the fray, eight student-athletes have earned All-America honors and 23 have earned an honorable mention.

"I am excited for Kevin and his well deserved promotion," head men's lacrosse coach Gene Peluso "Not only has he been an excellent coach here, but he cares for our program and the student-athletes in it."

"Kevin joins some notable past coaches here in our program as an Associate Head Coach in Matt Madalon (now Head Coach at Princeton) and Eric Koch (newly named Head Coach at Denison)," Peluso continued. "We have had some special people over the years serve as Associate Head Coach and Kevin is very worthy to be the next here. He is always focused on how to help our players, our program and the athletic department to be excellent in all we do."

In addition to their responsibilities and duties within their specific programs, the four coaches also serve in various leadership roles within the athletic department.
