Field Hockey Defeated by Arcadia on the Road

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Ducks

GLENSIDE, Pa. (Oct. 19, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team fell to Arcadia in a MAC Freedom matchup on the road by a score of 4-0, Wednesday night. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Ducks.
 
Arcadia took the lead with just seven seconds remaining in the first quarter. Morgan McEntire scored on an unassisted to put the Ducks in a 1-0 hole early in the game. Neither side produced much offense in the quarter, but it was Arcadia who saw majority of the opportunities with three shots and three penalty corners.
 
Stevens struggled to get momentum in the second quarter. They were outshot by a total of 4-0 in the second and were unable to earn a corner opportunity. The third quarter saw another goal for Arcadia as they increased their lead over the Ducks. They scored with just 44 seconds left and Stevens trailed 2-0 headed into the final 15 minutes
 
In the fourth quarter, Arcadia scored two more goals and made the final score 4-0. Stevens fell to 9-7 overall and 4-2 in conference play and the Knights improved to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

  • The Ducks earned seven penalty corner opportunities in the game and five in the fourth quarter.
