Women's Soccer Wins Second-Straight Against FDU-Florham

The Ducks defeated the Devils 4-1 to remain undefeated in conference play

HOBOKEN, N.J. (Oct. 4, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team won their second-straight game, defeating MAC Freedom opponent FDU-Florham at home by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday night. Junior Amelia Rehrig led the team with two goals in the victory and now has six on the season.

In the first half, it was the Devils who jumped out to the early 1-0 lead. Ashley Dietrick found the back of the net to give FDU-Florham the advantage 15 minutes into the game. After that, the Ducks took control. Rehrig scored her first of the game to tie the score at 1-1 in the 23rd minute and was assisted by graduate student Rachel Rouse. Ten minutes later, Stevens took the lead. Rouse fed the ball to first-year Sarah Wnorowski who scored her third of the season to make the score 2-1. The Ducks took their one-goal advantage into halftime.

Stevens doubled their goal total in the final 45 minutes of play. In the 54th minute, graduate student Taylor Whitlock sent a ball into the box that deflected off the goalkeeper. Rehrig was quick to react and tapped in the deflection for her second of the game. The Ducks' final goal came ten minutes later. Junior Jana Mucci stole a pass inside the Devils' box and tucked the ball into the back of the net to make the score 4-1. Stevens' back line was stout in the second have and did not allow a single shot to help secure the three-goal victory.
