HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 11, 2022)  – First-year Adriana Bertolotti won two events, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team fell to Rowan University 120-84 Friday in a non-conference dual at the DeBaun Aquatic Center.

First-year Natalia Brunetti also scored a first-place finish for the Ducks, who dropped to 0-2 on the year. It was the first meeting between the programs in Hoboken since 2016.

Jordan McChesney matched Brunetti with two wins for Rowan, who won seven of the 11 races to even its record at 2-2. The Profs have won the last three duals between the programs.

All totaled, Stevens won four of the 11 events and picked up five second-place finishes.

Bertolotti touched the wall first in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke. In the 50 Free, the Wayne, Pennsylvania native touched the wall in 25.94 seconds, while reaching the finish in the 100 Breast in 1:11.28. Her time in the 50 Free is her fastest non-relay time of the season.

Brunetti, meanwhile, touched the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke, topping the field with a time of 1:02.15. Her time is the fifth-fastest in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) this season.

Additionally, the Ducks got the event off to a good start by winning the 200-yard medley relay. The quintet of sophomore Kai Wong, Bertolotti, Brunetti and first-year Gabby Sokolik topped the field with a time of 1:52.14, which is the fastest time in the conference this season. Wong completed her leg of the relay, the 50-yard backstroke, in 28.56 seconds, which is the fastest time in the MAC to date. The Ducks' B relay group of sophomores Melissa Misurelli and Sophie Patz and juniors Jamielyn Juan and Keenan Yates finished second with a time of 1:56.12. Patz joined first-year Gabby Tyer in scoring both a second- and a third-place finish.

Other top times included Sokolik, who moved into second place in the conference in the 200-yard freestyle. The Cheshire, Connecticut native placed third in the race with a collegiate-best time of 2:01.91. The Ducks closed out the event with the 400-yard freestyle relay and the quartet of Brunetti, Sokolik, Misurelli and Wong finished the race in a MAC-leading time of 3:45.35.
