MADISON, N.J. (April 30, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology swept the season series against MAC Freedom opponent FDU-Florham on the road, Saturday, April 30. The Ducks took both games of the doubleheader, winning game one 5-3 and game two 8-1.

Michael Reyes each had four hits across both games. Senior
Sutton Dole led the team with four RBI on the day. Stevens improved to 28-12 and 14-7 in conference play with the wins. The Devils fell to 19-19 overall and 8-13 in conference play.
Stevens took an early advantage in the first game of the day. Dole kicked things off with a two RBI single in the second inning and then graduate student
Hunter Silvernail drove in one more run in the third to make the score 3-0. The Devils battled and scored three runs in the fourth to tie the game 3-3.
Stevens refused to let the game get away and in the next inning they scored the game-clinching runs. Senior
Brett Mendez scored on an error and then Paulich tripled to drive in Silvernail for some insurance. Junior Mark DeCiccio (1-0) earned his first win of the season and fifth-year Joseph Kastner (5-2) picked up the loss for FDU-Florham.
The Ducks jumped ahead quickly in the second game of the day. Senior
Ryan Finegan drove in a run on a double and the Dole picked up a two RBI single to gives Stevens a lead. Finegan drove in one more run in the third and the score was 4-0. The Devils added one run in the fourth to make the score 4-1 and then it was all Stevens after that.
The Ducks added three runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to take the 8-1 victory. First-year
Matt Villapiano (1-0) picked up the win from the mound and junior Anthony Molina (1-3) received the loss.
Up Next: Regular season comes to an end for the Ducks and they start their postseason series on Friday, May 6. Stevens is the No. 3 seed and will face No. 2 Misericordia.
