HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 30, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a win on Saturday, Apr. 30, at home. They swept Lycoming by a score of 9-0 to improve to 9-4 overall and 7-0 in MAC Freedom play.
The Warriors fell to 7-10 overall and 1-6 in conference play with the loss.
Senior
Agatha Malinowski and junior
Audrey Heaberlin won 8-0 at first doubles and then senior
Alexis Fuda and first-year
Isabella Dona won 8-0 at second spot. At third, sophomore
Polina Odintseva and junior
Juliette Marchisio also won 8-0.
Singles play went smoothly as Malinowski won from the first position (6-0, 6-1), Heaberlin won from the second spot (6-3, 6-1) and Fuda won at third (6-1, 6-0). Odintseva (6-3, 6-0), Dona (6-1, 6-0) and first-year
Emma Eguia (6-0, 6-0) also picked up wins at the fourth, fifth and sixth singles positions, respectively.
Up Next: Stevens will host a semifinal in the MAC Freedom Tournament on Tuesday, May 3. Stevens will be the No. 1 seed.
