MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (May 13, 2022) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team fell to No. 4 Middlebury by a score of 5-0 in an NCAA Regional Semifinal, Friday May 13. The loss concluded the team portion of play for Stevens this season after the Ducks earned their 12th-straight conference title in an impressive 2021-22 campaign.
The loss snapped Stevens' 12-match win streak and the team finished the season with a 14-5 overall record. It is their highest win total since 2019. The Panthers improved to 19-2 on the season and advanced to tomorrow's Regional Final.
The Ducks battled in doubles play to start the match but found themselves trailing 3-0 headed into singles action. Graduate student

Olof Persson fell 8-4 at first doubles to start. Senior
Marc Feliu and first-year
Troy Zhang were competitive in the second slot but eventually succumbed to Middlebury's Aidan Harris and Noah Laber by a score of 8-5. Sophomore
Aashi Kulakarni and first-year
Sebastian Wroe were the last to finish in doubles play and fell 8-3 from the third position.
Middlebury closed out the match over Stevens with wins at second and fourth singles. Kulakarni fell to Zach Hilty by a score of 6-1, 6-1 at fourth and Feliu fell to Laber at second by a score of 6-1, 6-4.
Up Next: The loss concluded team action for Stevens this season. Morris and Persson have been selected to compete in the NCAA Division III Doubles Championships scheduled for May 27-29 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
