GRANTHAM, Pa. (January 21, 2023) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team posted three race victories en route to a 2-1 record Saturday in a quad meet hosted by Messiah University at the Fredricksen Natatorium.
Sophomore
Sophie Patz won the 400-yard individual medley, first-year
Natalia Brunetti topped the field in the 200-yard butterfly, while sophomore
Kai Wong won the 200-yard backstroke for the Ducks, who defeated York (111-81) and Stevenson (153-36) before falling to Messiah (131-71) to close the regular season with a 2-3 dual record. The Ducks improved to 2-0 all-time against Stevenson and to 1-0 against York, while falling to 0-2 against Messiah.

Adam Schneider said. "All three teams we faced are looking good and we are excited to be able to race everyone again in a few weeks at MAC's."
Patz had the first win of the day for the Ducks, topping the field in the 400 IM in a time of 4:56.31. She remains ranked second in the Middle Atlantic Conference in the event after posting a swim of 4:45.26 at the TCNJ Invitational.
Brunetti followed with a win in the next event, posting a time of 2:16.50 in her first collegiate 200 Fly to top the field and vault into third place in the conference.
Wong posted the final victory of the day for the Ducks in the 200 Back, posting a time of 2:15.49. The second-year swimmer remains fourth in the conference with a time of 2:12.41, which was also achieved at the TCNJ Invitational.
In addition to the Ducks' three first-place finishes, Stevens posted three second-place finishes. Sophomore
Melissa Misurelli finished just behind (2:17.27) Wong in the 200 Back. while first-year
Gabby Sokolik took second in the 50 Free with a time of 26.46 seconds. The 200-yard medley relay team of Wong, first-year
Adriana Bertolotti, Brunetti and Sokolik actually scored the Ducks' first top finish of the meet with a second-place time of 1:53.72, missing out on a winning time by just .27.
