HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 6, 2023)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team announced its 2023 competition schedule Friday. The 17-game campaign includes nine at the DeBaun Athletic Complex, where the Ducks are 19-8 under fifth-year head coach Karen Shaddock. The slate also features three contests with teams that appeared in the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.

The defending MAC Freedom champions open the 2023 season on Feb. 22 with a home tilt with Montclair State. The Ducks have won four of the last five meetings between the teams and the late February matchup marks the second season opener in Hoboken since 2017.

The Ducks will face a total of three opponents from the New Jersey Athletic Conference, with a home matchup with Kean (Mar. 1) and a road tilt at Rowan (Mar. 4) rounding out the trio of contests.

A first-time meeting with John Carroll on Mar. 5 marks the start of a two-game homestand, with Springfield coming to campus on Mar. 10. The matchup with the Pride marks the first meeting between the programs since 2012 and sends the Ducks into Spring Break, where they will play at St. Lawrence (Mar. 12) and Mary Washington (Mar. 15). It is believed to be the first meeting with each program.

Non-conference play continues on Mar. 22, when the Ducks head to the Keystone State to take on York College of Pennsylvania. The Ducks rallied to take down the nationally-ranked Spartans 8-7 on Apr. 23, 2021 in the last meeting between the teams. The Ducks welcome Cabrini to campus on Apr. 19 to wrap up out-of-conference play.

The calendar turns to league play on Mar. 29, when the Ducks host FDU-Florham. The teams have split the last two MAC Freedom titles, with each game being decided by a single goal. Wilkes (Apr. 5), Lycoming (Apr. 22) and Delaware Valley (Apr. 26) all make the trip to Hoboken, while the Ducks will head to DeSales (Apr. 1), Arcadia (Apr. 12), King's (Apr. 15) and Misericordia (Apr. 29).

Postseason play begins on May 1 with the MAC Freedom's play-in game and a conference champion will be crowned on May 6.
