Alley and Rouse Guide Women's Soccer to 3-0 Victory Over Mount Saint Vincent

Alley's goal was the first of her career.

RIVERDALE, N.Y. (October 11, 2023) - Graduate Rachel Rouse scored twice while sophomore Lauren Alley scored her first career goal as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team beat The College of Mount Saint Vincent 3-0 in a non-conference match Wednesday night.

The Ducks (3-6-2) wrap up their non-conference slate with a win. The Ducks have now won three of their last four games. The College of Mount Saint Vincent falls to 8-4-2 with the loss. It was the first matchup between the two programs.

The Ducks wasted no time in this contest as they scored just 11 minutes in. Alley was able to score the goal for Stevens on an assist from junior Olivia Castro. Two minutes later, Alley almost doubled her total but the Dolphins came away with a team save. Later on in the frame, it was Rouse who doubled the Ducks advantage, finding the back of the net in the 36th minute on an assist from graduate Caitlin Carroll. Stevens would lead 2-0 at the break.

Stevens came out of the break peppering the Dolphins but did not find any success in expanding their lead early on. The Ducks finally put another goal on the scoreboard as Rouse doubled her tally in the 59th minute to extend the visitors' advantage. Stevens continued to apply pressure, but were unable to score any more, winning 3-0 on the road.
